Final Paper for Eco Home

Self Sustainable Eco Friendly Home
This home is completely self sustainable, and built with hosting parties in mind, utilizing recycled materials to construct and furnish. The location for this home is on the corner of Plum and Lowell in Point Loma California an urban center. This home is built to show what can really be done with Green materials. All you will need, except for meat, is contained within this home.
The house is facing north so that the sun will always shine on the greenhouse on the top floor, this also allows a breeze through the home. The color scheme for this home is violet, yellow and black metal. This home has the modern look without the chrome. The yellow comes from the reflective tinted windows to help heating and cooling. Every window opens leaving a cool ocean breeze blowing thru the home.
The energy comes from 6 solar panels mounted on the roof and 1 residential sized windmill in the yard. The water supplied to the home comes from 3 rain catchers and the hot water comes from one of those rain catchers with an inline water heater. The Kitchen contains dual appliances for optimum cooking and company. The theatre on the second floor uses a repurposed projector and screen from an old movie theatre. This theatre sits 10 people comfortably. The master bathroom has a walk in shower with bench and temperature control. The bathroom also has twin sinks and low flow toilet, with bed-ay. The master bedroom has full walk in closet with 360 degree viewing mirrors. The laundry room features built in cabinets with a counter top for space. All utilities use low flow high efficiency technology to save energy. On the second floor there is a 20 foot by 10 foot fresh water fish tank. The top floor is entirely made up of a green house with four industry sized sinks and over 30 square feet of storage and counter space. The green house utilizes hydroponic technology connected to the fresh water fish tank to water and feed the plants. Also a walk out balcony with retractable roof for shade, and plexiglass waist high walls for safety.
